The Long Room

Located on the Queen Street Level, this impressive event space features grand columns beneath the building’s magnificent copper dome and provides access to a private balcony overlooking the Brisbane River.

Built in a cruciform, each section cross is 23m long and the height of the dome is 19.5m.

The Long Room is the traditional name for the heart of customs services and is the perfect function space for large events.

The River Room

Located on the River Level, this impressive event space has been recently refurbished to combine state of the art technology with contemporary styling. The room has marvellous views of the Story Bridge and provides direct access to the terrace overlooking the Brisbane River. This room can accommodate groups for a range of functions and events due to its operable walls.

The River Room was once the Queen’s Warehouse and used as a bond store.

The River Terrace

The River Terrace is one of Brisbane’s premier outdoor function venues for cocktail parties that can be configured to cater for a range of private functions and events. Perfect for pre-dinner drinks with your Long Room dinner function or offered in conjunction when booking the River Room.

Entertain your guests by the river with the picturesque backdrop of Brisbane’s Story Bridge and the Kangaroo Point cliffs.

The Reid
Room

This private dining room, located on the Mezzanine level, will allow you to enjoy a range of intimate dining experiences. Featuring an elegant silky oak drop-leaf table, this room adjoins the Charitable Trusts room and balcony.

At the turn of the last century, electric light was installed, and this room has the only remaining brass light fitting from that time.

The Reid Dining Room was named in acknowledgement of the gift by John T Reid of the Australian Charitable Trust towards the restoration of Customs House. This room features selected works from the UQ Art Museum.

The Sylvia Jones
Boardroom

Located on the Mezzanine Level, the boardroom is an exquisite, formal showpiece featuring crystal chandeliers, marble fireplaces and an 1880’s heritage cedar table. The elegance of this private function room is echoed in the finest crystal, silverware and napery, making this space appropriate for a range of private events.

This room was named in honour of Sylvia Jones – Lady Mayoress of Brisbane 1961 – 1975 in appreciation of her contribution to the citizens of Brisbane (gifted by Dr Clem Jones towards the restoration of Customs House). The boardroom features selected works from the UQ Art Museum.

The Charitable
Trusts Room

This comfortable lounge setting, located on the Mezzanine Level, is suitable for pre-dinner drinks or cocktail functions. The balcony leading from this room still features the original iron lacework cast in England at the end of the last century. An exquisite crystal chandelier and paintings from the University Art Museum bring a special elegance to the room. This room also adjoins the Reid Dining Room and Balcony.

The Chartiable Trusts Room was named in honour of Edward Corbould, James Simpson Love, John Christopher Pascoe, Samuel & Eileen Gluyas Charitable Trusts administered by Perpetual Trustees Queensland Limited.
