Wedding Ceremonies & Receptions

Host your ceremony on our River Terrace against the breathtaking backdrop of the Brisbane River, before moving onto one of our magnificent and bespoke reception spaces within our wedding venue.

Our friendly wedding & event coordinators will provide a personalised approach from your initial enquiry, through to the planning process and throughout the day itself. Additionally, a banquet supervisor will oversee your reception and a senior waiter will be dedicated to look after the bridal party.

An event coordinator is on duty Monday to Saturday for site inspections. Appointments are recommended.

Wedding Ceremony Venue Hire

Located on the river level of Customs House, our iconic wedding ceremony venue can host waterfront ceremonies for 30 up to 200 guests. Wedding ceremonies may be held for couples holding their wedding reception at Customs House on a Friday or Sunday. Our Riverside Terrace provides unlimited photographic opportunities for couples looking to host an unforgettable wedding ceremony.

Announce your vows against the backdrop of the Story Bridge with string music orchestrated by a live ensemble. We recommend that you consider having two ushers (friends or family members) to assist with the arrival of guests.

Your wedding reception package will commence immediately at the completion of the one hour allocated time with pre-dinner drinks and canapés. In case of wet weather your ceremony will be set up in the alcove of your reception room.

Elegance Wedding Ceremony Package

Our elegance package includes the following:

  • Clothed registry table with two formal chairs
  • Chairs set for 30 guests
  • Chair covers and sashes on chairs
  • Long red carpet for the centre aisle
  • Speakers and radio microphone
  • Upgrade to Tiffany Chairs for an additional $300
  • A total of one hour for the ceremony which includes the arrival of family and friends, wedding ceremony and time for your guests to pass on their congratulations

A fee of $2,000 is applicable.

Wedding Reception Spaces

The Long Room

Featuring a cathedral ceiling, sculptured pillars and antique fixtures, the Long Room is a stunning wedding reception venue.

Step onto the red carpet and marvel at the historic features of this iconic reception venue with room to host 60 up to 200 guests for sit down and stand up events.

A luxurious private lounge room provides the bridal party with access to a balcony overlooking the river. Enjoy pre dinner drinks and canapés while your guests mingle on the Riverside Terrace.

After guests are seated in the Long Room, the wedding party will have the opportunity to make a grand entrance to join the guests and allow the formal celebrations commence.

Capacity: 60 – 200 guests

Book a wedding reception in the Long Room and River Room on a Sunday and receive a complimentary wedding ceremony package valued at $2,000.

The River Room

The River Room located on the River Level of Customs House was once part of the Queen’s warehouse. The area has been transformed into a modern and contemporary reception room that flows onto the terrace with views of the Story Bridge.

The River Room is suitable for wedding receptions from 50 up to 120 guests. This function space is also available for high tea and luncheon packages.

The Sylvia Jones Boardroom

Located on the Mezzanine Level, the boardroom is an exquisite, formal showpiece featuring crystal chandeliers, marble fireplaces and an 1880’s heritage cedar table.

The elegance of this private function room is echoed in the finest crystal, silverware and napery, making this the perfect space for intimate wedding receptions.

A bespoke package is available for this room.
